Toast India’s 73rd With Her Vinous Milestones!

Raise a generous toast to India’s historic 73rd Republic Day with Indian wines that have made history in their own right.

Our young and massive democracy celebrated its 73rd Republic Day this January’s last week and it’s been one hell of a journey to reflect on.  The journey has been epic, not without its challenges, pitfalls and emergencies balanced overwhelmingly by the thrust of collective ambition and groundbreaking ideas. And while there is so much to marvel at the history of independent India, the country’s comparatively brief wine story is also dotted with a few laudable milestones. While India’s wine journey began in the 1980’s, the industry found its feet in earnest with wider participation in the early 2000’s, buoyed in so small part by an increasing interest among local consumers. The last  two decades have seen our creative and dexterous winemakers notch up a number of homegrown firsts including a range of premium red wine blends, exuberant new world white wine signatures and delectable sweet wines to indulge the legendary Indian sweet tooth. So while Wine Park is widely known for its collection of fine international wines, we’ve also curated a clutch of India’s diverse collection of wines covering a range of styles, some of which have been veritable milestones and are available for you to discover. Cheers!

Indians love their sweet wine, moreso produced in authentic style, drying out the grape to a near raisin with copious amount of natural sugar and fermented to near perfection. This indulgently sweet white wine displays a deep golden color with flavours of honey, hazelnut and almond with the sweetness balanced by crisp acidity.
