So, this April, Wine Park is picking a Malbec for everyone, right from beginners to enthusiasts and the discerning connoisseur on International Malbec Day. Cheers!
Susana Balbo, Crios Malbec…
To begin with It’s a coincidental delight that a new perfect introduction to Malbec is vinified by Argentina’s first woman winemaker who also helped put the country’d modern Malbec style on the world map. Susana Balbo’s Robert Parker 91 points Malbec is a full bodied veneer of flavours like cherries and blackberries tinged with spice and lorded over by velvety tannins. This gourmet wine belongs on the dinner table all through holiday season and then some.
Matias Riccitelli, Hey Malbec…
Bold, modern Argentine Matias Riccitelli sits at the very forefront of of the Malbec phenomenon with the cool, wholesome expression that is borne of a low intervention, terroir focused approach. Riccitelli has allowed the fruit to stretch its expression to the furthest and yielding a balance of dark fruit, spice, firm texture and oak mature finesse that lingers long on the palate and in the memory.
Matias Riccitelli, The Party Malbec
A favourite with enthusiasts Matias Riccitelli loves a good party and makes some terrific Malbec so it’s only natural for the young, adventurous winemaker to name his top end Malbec style, The Party. Riccitelli is a a great believer and exponent of the high altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley, 1400 feet above sea level and rich in calcareous soils. This opulent Malbec turn exudes ripe character and sense of the soil, cradled by superb tannins.
