Bodegas Maurodos

Since 1997, Maurodos has 100 ha vineyard Toro planted mostly with the variety tinta de toro and garnacha. The average age of these vineyards is 35 years old, some of their oldest vines were planted ungrafted because this area was not affected by phylloxera. The soils are loose, stony or sandy depending on the areas as with clay subsoil where the plant can obtain water in times of drought. The varieties and plots are vinified separately to respect the characteristics of the different vineyards. These wines are structured and elegant, balanced, with refined tannins and deep minerality.

There are 2 wines: San Roman & Prima.

The San Román are profound wines that combine power and elegance, have civilized tannins and a dense mouthfeel, with crisp flavors of black fruit. Built to grow in bottle are minimized stabilization processes to ensure maximum respect for the grape and land.

Aged for one year and younger vines from Prima is a structured but easy to drink, with polished tannins and a subtle oak aging. A modern, fruity and civilized bull to all audiences.
