Château Poujeaux lies in the wine-producing district of Moulis-en-Médoc in the Bordeaux region of France. It is one of the most highly regarded wines within Moulis. In 2008, Philippe Cuvelier and his son Matthieu, who are already the happy owners of the Saint-Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé Château Clos Fourtet, took over the destiny of this lovely estate in Moulis en Médoc. While ensuring the continuity of operations here, they are also injecting some new energy and lots of ambition into the property. They have hired the services of the best and are investing efficiently in the production facilities to drive significant progress and elevate Poujeaux to new heights. In the first half of the 20th century, the property was prosperous and was handed down and divided up until the Theil family decided to take a closer look at it. Jean Theil strove to bring the different parts of the estate back together again and built its reputation. Château Poujeaux became sought after by connoisseurs: Former French President George Pompidou swore by it and served it at the Elysée palace! Jean’s descendants inherited his devotion to the estate and perpetuate the spirit of Poujeaux.
