He also touched on Costa Brava’s Cavas and Ribera Del Duero’s underrated Tempranillo blends, steeped in ripe fruit and rugged soil influence. Vishal reminisced on a memorable self-drive that took him from the Spain’s windswept north to the austere south, filling each day with grand palate memories.
Must Try Wine Picks For 2025
Now this is a topic that’s still very much live as we still sit in the first half of 2025. There’s a lot of ground to cover here for Vishal as he identifies his top five wine trends for 2025. Talking up the rage of orange wines that are sweeping through Europe and the US for their unique colour and palate, he spoke of Wine Park’s recently introduced Radikon wines from Italy. He also pegged Sicilian wines for a big year in the limelight, especially the smokey, volcanic wines of Mount Etna. Another region, he believes, will get its proper due this year is Loire Valley that makes the world’s best Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc hands down. Look out for German and Austrian Pinot Noir expressions that can give Burgundy a bit of competition on the count of rustic elegance while Portugal’s modern wine styles are bound to dazzle the world with a novel, energetic identity.
Wining Through Paris
The follow up blog to Vishal’s grand Wine Paris experience, he tells all about hopping across Parisian wine bars and restaurants that are the world’s wine capital’s finest foot forward. The Star Wine came in handy to identify some of Paris’s best wine bars. La Sancerre was the first stop, highlighting the wines of Loire and Beaujolais while La Marche was a natural wine bar well worth the visit, containing a rare collection of wines for the adventurous palate to go with rustic French cuisine.
